Draw the lines of safety (DRAW)

Duration: 31/01/2019 – 30/10/2021

Description:

The Draw The Lines of Safety project is a creative initiative aimed at fostering positive, safe, and informed conversations about gender, sexuality, and relationships. By integrating art, performance, and interactive methodologies, the project encourages young people to reflect on boundaries, consent, and gender-based violence.

In a world where gender-based violence, harmful stereotypes, and cultural taboos still impact countless lives, this project provides a much-needed space for young people and youth workers to explore these sensitive topics safely.

The initiative responds to key challenges such as:

Lack of safe spaces for young people to learn relationship and intimacy skills.

The ongoing prevalence of gender-based and sexuality-related violence across Europe, affecting marginalized communities disproportionately.

Deeply ingrained cultural taboos around gender roles and sexuality, often making open dialogue difficult.

The misrepresentation of marginalized groups, particularly young foreign men, in public discourse, reinforcing harmful stereotypes.

Objectives:

✦ Use art as a medium for discussing safe sexuality and gender-based violence prevention.

✦ Empower youth with knowledge about boundaries, consent, and respect.

✦ Foster a safer, more inclusive environment for young people to explore sexuality and relationships.
